Camera House

Camera house is located on a plain area in Lakatamia. The plot drove the architect to create a curved volume which supports the approaching to the plot with a dynamic way.

Inspired from the clients hobby (cameraman) the goal was to make a multy viewing house creating more angles utilizing the sun path to the maximum.

Due to the fact that the building plot is not very big, the building volume is put at the back in order to leave the space in front for the garden. The relation between the internal and external spaces is succeeded by the use of big transparent facades.

The ground floor is consisted by a united space where the living room the kitchen and the lounge are. The lounge can be easily converted to a dining room. There is also a working space for the user. On the top floor, there are four bedrooms.

In the center of the house is the lounge, the bar and the stair, composing a sculptural interconnection which have purpose to act as a core ’’serving’’ the house.

The use of glass in the south and north side of the house, has as a target the success of environmental apodosis.

Using the wind route, the architects manage to make cross ventilation through the house by putting glass windows in the south and north side. This has as result the cooling of the house. Using double glazing with emissivity film-combing with argon filling between the panes we minimize the energy loss.
